JENNY LAWSON - Let's Pretend This Never Happened

  • Adult Event
04/25/2012 7:00 pm

The Bloggess
JENNY LAWSON
will speak & sign
Let's Pretend
This Never Happened

(A Mostly True Memoir).

The speaking portion of this event is free and open to the public. Tickets are required in order to join the signing line and meet Jenny after she speaks.

Tickets for the signing line are available with the purchase of a copy of Let's Pretend This Never Happened from BookPeople. You can purchase the book & receive a line ticket in advance either via our website, by calling 512-472-5050, or by coming down to the store.

Each ticket is printed with a letter. This letter designates you signing group. After Jenny speaks, we'll call people to line up according to the letter on their ticket.

Books purchased from some place other than BookPeople can be signed at this event, however unless another copy is purchased at BookPeople, you will be in the last group called up to have your book signed.

We are thrilled to welcome our favorite funny blogger Jenny Lawson to BookPeople to share her new, darkly comic memoir about a bizarrely loveable family, as well as infertility, anxiety disorder, OCD, and finding yourself through the mortifyingly weird moments of life.

Long before she was the world-famous “Bloggess,” sharing her irreverent, occasionally insane doings and observations with hundreds of thousands of blog visitors and Twitter followers every month, Jenny Lawson was just a kid growing up in rural West Texas. As she tells it in her side-splitting new book, Let's Pretend This Never Happened, her childhood was David Copperfield meets Guns & Ammo Magazine—“Most people don’t go out into the woods to catch armadillos so that their father can race them professionally,” she points out—and things have gotten arguably more bizarre as she has settled into adulthood.

JENNY LAWSON is a columnist and one of the most popular humor bloggers in America (200,000+ followers). Her blog, www.thebloggess.com, gets millions page views per month. Jenny lives in the Texas Hill Country with her husband and daughter.

Thank you for supporting Jenny Lawson, and your local independent bookstore!

How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.
