How Our Events Work

BookPeople is proud to host over 300 events every year. Our events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.

To get a book signed at one of our events, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business, but you are also showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople. Think of it this way: you wouldn't bring your own beer to a bar, would you?

For events where we anticipate large crowds, wristbands may be required in order to join the signing line. Occasionally we may also ticket events. In both cases, information as to when wristbands/tickets are available will be found on that event's specific page on our website.

Young Adult Events

Get ready for the party to end all parties! We proudly present to you the WORLD RELEASE CELEBRATION for Rick Riordan's brand new book, Heroes of Olympus: The Lost Hero, the first in a new series!

We'll be hanging out in our parking lot, enjoying food and games, chariot races, satryr dancing and much more! The party starts at 4pm and Rick will speak at 6pm (he'll start signing soon afterward). This event will be webcast LIVE by the publisher.

The day's festivities will include chariot races, rock climbing, Mythomagic, magical creatures, Phalnyx training, Austin’s Pizza, Maine Root Root beer, and much more! Books and line tickets will be available for purchase starting at 9:00AM October 12th.

So mark your calendars, set your sun dials, and get ready for an EPIC amount of fun.

EVENT RULES:

Due to the expected crowd size and time contraints, Rick can only sign one book per person. In order to get a book signed, you must purchase a copy of Heroes of Olympus from BookPeople. Once you buy the book we will give you a line ticket for the signing.You can buy the book starting at 9AM on Oct. 12th. We will stop taking phone orders at 2pm on the day of the event.

This is a one book/one person event. If you purchase 6 books that you want signed, you must have six people waiting in line (or be prepared to go to the end of the line each time you would like an additional item signed). Thanks for your understanding!
